Hi Dennis, whats up? Since I sold most of the flock off, i have tons of people asking for Legbars and Sapphires, what is your web address so that I can forward it. I must have deleted our old message with that info! @dheltzel

I have *lots* of Legbars now. Far too many to winter over in the facilities I currently have. Building more coops is an option I am looking at but can't seem ti justify now, so I'd rather find some good home for these, even if I have to discount the price a lot. Most are purebred Jill Reese line too. I love those JR pullets, they are turning out to be great layers and the eggs are bluer than the older line I had.

The best email to reach me is [email protected]
Or, my website is in my tagline.

Thought everyone would like to see the little survivor today. I decided to name her Mira for miracle. She's much, much more alert today (though she doesn't look like it in the first picture) and feeling a bit better. Her head does stink though. Is that normal? I noticed it when I was flushing it.

She's had that eye open all day

You can probably see that it's stretched back and there's a wrinkle under it but it still works

Glad she's doing better.

My lone chick didn't live long enough to meet her new sisters. Had a pretty strong feeling that would happen. C'est la vie.

Now I have 4 silkie/mixes and a pullet to replace DD's australorp. She named it Rarity.

Sorry the chick didn't make it.

Day 10, just candled the eggs in the incubator. Definitely had 3 chicks moving around in there! 1 egg looked dark & veined but didn't see any movement. Tossed the 3 clears.

I decided to candle one of the eggs from under the hens so I went outside & tried to take one from under a hen but she pecked me! I retreated in defeat. So no idea if those are developing. So far my experience has been that the broodies do a better job than the incubator though, so I will just assume that some will hatch out there. They are sitting on 5 eggs between them.

The broodies have settled their differences and are nicely sharing the eggs, so I am leaving them together for now.
Good luck!

I hope the testing goes fine!

You may need to actually hose him down so that he will believe what you say. However once is probably all it will take!!
I'e done it before. HE laughed. LOL

Living in texas, our hose water is often hotter than the inside water.... :hmm

I'm going to have to wait for winter, for the water to be cold enough. LOL

Summer is supposed to return next week but the temperature is wonderful right now. It's about 60 and the humidity is relatively low for August. It almost felt chilly when I went out.
I am camping this weekend. The cooler temps are appreciated.

Anxiety attacks are sucky....I had one once many years ago while I was going through a bout of clinical depression.
It wasn't fun at all.
I have been having them since I lost my first fiancee. The past 18 months though, they are out of control sometimes. I take a natural remedy for them, but sometimes all I can do is get nose to nose with Duckling, and tell her I love her over and over. If I focus on her, I can at least get through the day. Then pray through the night.

My new LF Cochin male. He is so freaking tall!
Nice!
