Quote: The Zero Turn mowers certainly are nice. I can't think of what brand he has; I just know that it's one of the better ones. I bought one 20+ years ago ('88 or '90, I believe), after being in the lawn care business for a couple of years. My old Wheel Horse lawn & garden mower had seen better days, and I wanted something with more speed & a larger deck for more production. The Dixie Chopper's advertising slogan was, and still is "The fastest mower in the industry", which is true, as long as you're mowing a pool table! In reality, if you run it wide open you'll skip a lot due, obviously, to the bumps. I, of course, knew that, but was still impressed enough to spend $6k (a lot of money then), for one with a 16hp Kohler twin cylinder gas engine & 50" deck. It originally had regular turf tires in the rear, which I immediately swapped out for ag tires (smaller version of the rear tires on a farm tractor), for the cleated design, which gives better traction on hills. They've come in very handy over the years. It's on the 2nd engine now, a B&S 20hp; more powerful & a lot less thirsty. The last time I checked, the new ones were running about $10k;pretty salty for Harry Homeowner unless he's mowing a pretty expansive yard, but worth the money if he doesn't care to devote his life to mowing the lawn.

morning

We have a Dixie chopper! The previous directors were mowing with some sort of little lawn tractor. It was always broken because it couldn't handle the terrain; staff would have to go pick up sticks and pine cones every time they needed to mow. So DH got a mower for the camp, with a 72" deck. I think it was $10k. But he can mow the whole place in a day or two. He can get the front yard in five minutes.

Welsh Harlequins. I'm a teeny bit biased, but they're awesome ducks!!
In your personal opinion, what makes them better ducks than other ducks!
(we have heat indexes that reach 140+, so I need a fairly heat-survivable breed, too.)

I know the wild ducks, that we had around in the summer growing up in WA state, wouldn't survive a summer down here haha.
I wouldn't survive 140* either! That's insane!
