Rainy, snuggle in bed type of weather. How bout u runt? That was on our local news last night too about not kissing chickens. I mean every time I get near my chick chick he pecks me so no French kissing going on here!!

Dollar General (I think owned by same company as Family Dollar) closes out all summer stuff gradually and by October anything left will be 70-80% off. Check frequently as stuff can go quickly. Would be a good deal even at 50% off!

Slowly catching back up, but wanted to comment on buying kiddie pools this time of year. THEY GO ON SALE!

Dollar General (I think owned by same company as Family Dollar) closes out all summer stuff gradually and by October anything left will be 70-80% off. Check frequently as stuff can go quickly. Would be a good deal even at 50% off!

Were we live, they don't last through the summer season. We also dont live in a huge english speaking area, and have a lot of drug problems in most neighborhoods. I wouldn't go around much. As a awhite girl, i reALLY stand out.

When they have them back in stock in the spring, I sure am! LOL

Going to the store is not a problem. But using craigslist, or yard sales, is iffy in our area. We live a few hours from a big city, too. the pools they get here, are all sold out before the sales can even happen. We have a lot of people who have horses/goats in neighborhoods, too. They buy them up fast.

Not only banks! I don't get my salary direct from the education department, but trough the municipality. They get the money from the government at the 1st of every month and we get it at the 10th of it! 10 day of manipulation!

That's bad. Our credit union would take direct deposits from the company long before the company would send it to the bank. I had an account for a while until I realized it took 10 days to get to the account. I cancelled the DD.
At least I get my pension check on the 1st - most months.

Truthfully I don't believe half what I hear.... On either side..... Numbers and facts can be skewed to say what anyone wants. I guess just use common sense and live and let live.
I like my fresh eggs but I did survive on grocery store eggs for 50 years.
Yeah I was dumb.... Never had a good job. Turned wrenches in a independent shop for 25 years..... No sick days.... Used up all my vacation days when sick or in the hospital. Or for appointments. I was much better than that but with my health I never thought anyone else would hire me. No after I retire i find out other shops wanted me bad......

I think grocery eggs may have been a little better 50 years ago but not sure.
It seems like I got the flu every year when I changed shifts a lot. I always had to take the time off without pay or burn a week's vacation.
Too bad on the last point.
I was just thinking about a story I heard about the Three Stooges. They only ever did shorts while other comedians were getting full length movies. Larry, Curley and later Shemp pushed Moe to ask for movie deals. He was afraid to ask because he thought they would lose their shorts contract.
It wasn't till they retired and moved back east that they found out how phenomenally famous they were. They could have easily gotten a movie deal if they had asked.
I had my picture taken with them in their dressing room at the Police Circus here.
