@DwayneNLiz That was a really long post! LOL

Are you all caught up now? LOL

I want ducks, but if my silkie batch doesn't work out, I may put duck eggs in my smaller incubator, since I can control the humidity easier for them if it needs to be low? And use the new incubator for a bigger batch of silkie eggs or silkie/RIR eggs. I think I want to add a couple more red island or less broody hens to my flock. Just figuring out the best bird at this point
lol, yep all caught up now
thats what happens when i leave you guys for 3 days
depending on the type of duck the eggs may not fit in the little one
is it a brinsea mini?
i cant wait to get duck eggs lol

it says it can accomodate them, so maybe
i would try it
With out adding any water, my humidity stays between 28-45% -- I add like 5 drops of water, to keep it around 40-50% for the silkie eggs I've got in there.

wow thats a touchy machine, have you calibrated the thermo & hygro?

I did. We live in a super humid area, so the outsidie humidity makes the humidity really high with out needing water. so I have to balance the water droplets, based on our daily humidity.

Like, right now, it's been 95-100, instead of closer to 110, but we've had like 45-50% humidity outside, so the more humid it is, the more it seems to raise my humidity.

I had good luck with the last egg that hatched in there, and I had to play around with the humidity. I left it around 30-35% which is why I think one of the two chicks might not have made it, that the humidity was too low.

FYI @kajira call ducks are the hardest to hatch (supposedly)

Looks pretty normal, though the cecal poop portion looks a little loose. Is he acting normal?

-Kathy
He is thin I noted when I moved him into a coop with nine hens two days ago. I finally sold his last bachelor coop buddy and moved him.

call ducks? I wanted to try some of the white pekin ducks, some welsh and maybe a couple of the runner ones that aren't knowing for being so flighty.
