ooo and our TSC gave me three pallets and said he'd have a bunch more next week to give me... so I can start collecting pallets from them in order to take the wood apart to make a turkey pen ;o

I was at tractor supply about a month or so ago and I seen a chickens running around in the parking lot so I was down there chasing the chicken all over the parking lot I almost had her but she ran behind the store into the woods if I had caught her I was taking her home before she got run over.

Nope. Thought about it though.

Okay, so TSC didn't have ANY poult starter, or bird starter of any sort, but chicken, or an all flock start (that says quail, chick, duck, goose, turkey, etc) on the bag, but it's only 20% protein. I bought it, but they said on monday, he could order some poult starter for me, but it would take a week or so to get it in.

All flock works.

Slow. A friend of mine helps me when he can, but neither he nor his wife are in the best of health, so his time here is limited; usually only a couple hours at a time. He talks more than I do; always has a story to tell, most of which I've heard, many times, but I appreciate what help he can give me. Unfortunately, he can't work & talk at the same time.

It would work, right? I can raise them with my batches of silkies and ducks??? LOL

I mean... chickens always seem to die, so even if I buy 50, I bet I'll only have 10-15 out of the original by the spring... right? That's how I justified it to my husband...

I also was pricing out some of the really fancy dog kennels there for the ducks. They come with nice metal roofs, and I can add a dog house to the side (it opens) and it's movable... so for the ducks, or turkeys... it might be a nice breeding pen? and since I could move it, when they destroy one part of the yard, I could then move it to a different part?

It's about 500 for a nice kennel with a metal roof.... but at the cost of building a shed, or pens with big fenced off areas.... It makes more sense to have a movable kennel?

I haven't told my husband I was pricing those out.... he still thinks i'm saving money up to go back to the fertility doctor after jan... but if I have extra money....
