Was wondering how he was to hold his tail as well

He usually is more like the top photo. He was acting kind of droopy yesterday. I will watch him tonight. It is also time to move the cockerel that is not going to make the grade.
This is the one that did not make it (no back). He is on Craigslist and looking for a home. Someone hopefully wants size and color(he is big), but is not breeding to SOP.

Definitely missing his back. On phone and for a minute the head looked crested. Nice color

They are supposed to have a very flat back, brick out front centered legs and a tail at 20° though being a little low as a cockerel is better than high since it comes up a bit after the first molt. He is not show quality, but the best I got.

Wished there was a guide like this for mine.
