I've never made feed.  But I do ferment my feed, and my pullets start laying several weeks earlier than my neighbor's birds do.  Duck weed would be an excellent protein additive to get up to your target %.  Remember, they'll be getting some of their own protein in the summer if you let them free range.  So you might want to cut it back just a tad in the summer (IMO.)  Other options to consider:  Siberian pea tree, comfrey.  Both about 30% protein.  Cat fish pellets.  Even cat food.  When my birds are molting or otherwise stressed, I toss them a hand full of cat food.   Just be sure you do your homework before doing this, so you get it right. 

I love research I have half a notebook full so far on just feed and dietary need for them I don't want to take risk with there health that's one of the reasons I'm taking on this little adventure and when I have it just right and have it down pat then the feast begins lol I'll have to look those things up I was actually thinking of other ways to also add animal protein especially for the ducks I was thinking of fish but I wasn't sure how to go about it we have an over abundance of carp catfish blue gills and sunnies in are pond that I can easily harvest if need be because every feed I see for chickens and ducks at the store has some sort of fish product in it im just not sure how to go about getting it in there feed and if I would would I have to do that separate and mix it in right before I feed them or if I could ferment it with the grain

I gave too, and watch the goonies with the kids Mike, they will love it. I bought a used dvd of ebay and the kids watch it over and over... Its on dish a lot on regular channels its a popular movie! As far as the telephone poles, I refuse to pay to have them replaced along a road and not near my house or property. I would sooner go cut them down with a chainsaw during the day and see what they do.

I hate when my dogs wake me up chewing on something and I go into the livingroom and they took all the ornaments off the bottom of the tree and chewed them up all over the entire living room.

hey whites, just got off the phone with Talyn, guess what..... all that shooting I heard yesterday was him and his Poppop shooting my muzzleloader, he called to ask if he can use it again to go hunting with him!!!!!!!!

It made my week just hearing that he is gonna do that!!!! but I did ask how she shot and if he cleaned her right.

I could smell the ivory soap cookin all through the woods! (I only live a bit down the mnt from them lol)

O.K., I'm officially confused, which is most disconcerting this time of day. How are you going to net catfish? Are they tame, as in coming in to be fed whenever you appear? The only other way I'm aware of involves netting pods of small, newly hatched fry, but it's too early for that.

Are pond has a very shallow end that run about twenty feet into the pond the smaller ones hang out there they are usually under six inches but I want small ones and what ever else I net is coming home with me to go into my 250 gallon pond to get started I walk out and push the fish to shore and when there bunched up I net them we've bin doing it for years that way to get small feeder or bait fish
