So I wanted to give you guys another update on my chick. Christina Crawford (now known as Tina). The only evidence left from her mother mauling her is a couple bald spots and some bluekote stains. I cannot believe how well she healed and how fast! She isn't even limping anymore! I was thinking it was a bit cruel to keep her alive but I'm glad I did now!

On another note, one of the chicks hatched without absorbing the yolk fully. It's been over a week now and the yolk is still out. In the past, by this time they either absorbed it the rest of the way, or were obviously not going to make it. This one acts perfectly normal, although slightly smaller than most of the others. Should I try to tie it off or just leave it be?

@Sally Sunshine I didn't pay much attention just yet. I'll let them get a little farther into hatching before I start paying much attention. There is another batch slated to hatch from a different breeder tomorrow. Remember, I've only got some 4 wk olds that I got as chicks and then these hatching. New breed for me. We can't forget about the day olds that got lost in the mail either. RIP little guys. Still haven't gotten my insurance check for those.
its sometimes hard to tell until dry. depending on the stock it can be hard. if you have all lights it can get a bit hard while wet

Good news on Tina!!! glad you put the effort forth! Just leave that be, do you have a pic of her now?

Brit just went out and she said based on eye stripes alone, there are 6 with heavy dark stripes and 2 with light to none. There are 5 more to hatch in this group. She also said there was a pip in tomorrow's hatch.
