great advice! The other important thing I did that I think everyone needs to do is find a spot in your house that is the most stable as far as temperature goes. Mine was pretty closed in cause we do run a 22 percent humidity already in our house.
x2 !!!I'm not sure I could stick around long enough to find out if the bear was more scared of me......
dang!!! no way!!We have bears around here and they aren't afraid of anything!
I was sitting outside my house the other night and heard a car's tires screech and a thud. Thought someone got into an accident in front of my house, turns out they just slammed into a bear! They said he rolled over and just walked away. Did a number on their hood and smash their light though!
I only got chased by a bear once....she had cubs....I ran real fast.....she quit chasing....thank God.I'm not sure I could stick around long enough to find out if the bear was more scared of me......
Sally, he is the only one out of 5 that did hatch. One was unfertile, and the other three didnt make it to lock down, which I am leaning towards the temp being the problem there. So he is in the bator all by himself.
I have pine shavings in my brooder right now, should I put something else down for him? This is the first time I have hatched one of my own, I have raised many baby's in the brooder.
I will put a feather duster in there with him. My girls haven't gotten broody yet. Will he eventually fluff up on his own in the brooder? He looks so pathetic right now not being fluffy.Lanie also its a loner so add a little mirror, some stuffed animals for it to snuggle to if you have them... or a clean feather duster they love in the brooder. I would try to find another chick on CL or somewhere to keep it company if you can, or if you have a broody hen try seeing if she will take the chick after that stem is
Thankfully never been chased by a bear or deer.....although I have been chased up a tree by a wild pig before and that was scary enough as they can really mess you up if they get a hold of you.I only got chased by a bear once....she had cubs....I ran real fast.....she quit chasing....thank God.
Mostly they run so fast you don't have time to do much but watch them go. But I still always respect them. Lots of bears here!!! Can't even have a bird feeder.
