Someone laid their first egg this week!!!

Left to Right: Sexy's Standard Brown Jumbo Egg, New EE blue/green pullet egg (we suspect Girlfeather, but no proof!), and a store bought large egg!

To celebrate I made the girls a "Cake" Which they loooooved.

Here is what the inside of my coop looks like for the little poof heads. They can come out from under the wire, but the big girls cannot get under to them. It has worked GREAT.

The chickens like to roost in front of the window, which we can see from inside the house. I love it!

Bonus picture of the part of kansas where I live: The Flint Hills. It's so beautiful here. Also, we have native wild prairie chickens.

Alright everyone I have some more questions. One of my green egg chicks has a deformed foot. It was the chick that took FOREVER to get out. The foot will not lay flat and looks a little twisted? He holds his leg funny, but can scoot around the brooder when he wants to. Thriving other than that, and takes a lot of rests. Advice? Anything I can do? Will the chick be ok?



Also, in good news I heard a peep from my two lockdown eggs today!

My eggs came from Abbotstown. Eggs back to her took one day from here.

This is becoming more and more whirred every day! In 3 post we passed from one very known sing of a group name after an insect, to a ton of frozen bananas purchased in few dollars and finely to bunch of links about yolk sac problem!!

They put in fiber optics last spring and we were told it would be up and running by August at the latest but nothing so far.
