WE had a nanny goat going up. Drank lots of her milk.

After we hatched our first batch of chicks my girls didn't want to eat eggs anymore cause they wanted to hatch all the eggs.

Hahaha!!!! We milk our goats too. Going rate is $10 a gallon. I can strip one down in about a minute and a half. Still keep a couple of Holsteins around to milk too.

We milked when I was growing up. I think we quit around my Senior year and went to strictly beef cattle. Semi used to pick up a load every other day. We milked 12 at a time, 6 on each side of the pit. That milk would be ice cold in the tank and we'd dip a cup in and get a drink. Milk with scotch and Kahlua was a very popular drink in the milk barn.
I grew up wanting to be a dairy farmer in Hawaii, right after it became a state. Then I figured out it'd take a million bucks or more to get the land, equipment, cows, etc., and if I had that kind of money, why would I want to get up @ 3 AM, 24/7, to mess with & clean up behind a bunch of cows. Tough way to make a living.

Unless they unwind in the player.

I have absolutely no desire to go back to milking.
