I'll be pulling out of here in a bit, heading your way.

Ok, drive safe! It's rainy and yucky up here. I'm going to wait a little bit and let Tucker eat his breakfast with the turkeys then I'll go pull him out and put him in that evil crate (in his eyes).

12 hour hatch window for the projects and legbar, one egg early DIS I pulled...

serama are doing nothing,
I think I screwed up by setting them in three days instead of two cause I am dumb and forgetful
probably gonna drown cause of the high humidity.

I FOUND A BIG NO NO in hatching, This was the first time I pulled empty shells out early.
I had a trampled chick and it looks like they pulled his umbilical strings at hatch, he must have bled
and they just had a pecking field day on him after that. Had the shells been in there,
it probably would have given him some space to hatch and dry up because he would have been surrounded
by empty shells and some "cover" he is actually in this image, I didnt see him until I checked the serama.
Problems occur when we incubate cannibalistic prone species.

I don't think the shells were the issue. Crowding and too much white light IMO is the issue.
Switch to blue light.

CH gets a hug from paddler, I hug you when I see you but never get any???? how does that work?

I pray her safe and wondrous travels
Well the hug was to show that I wasn't being grumpy and mean.

You get plenty of hugs already.

Regarding the nudist beach in Bonaire, it was mostly middle aged folks that spent too much time in the sun.

We rented a Mayan hut on the beach in the Yucatan (no electricity or running water). There was a resort down the beach that was a clothing optional fat farm. Not a pretty picture.
The hut was great though. Had to carry water from the well to flush the toilet. Windows were sticks to keep wildlife out. Mosquito netting was only necessary when it rained.
The only freak out was when the jaguar climbed onto the deck and tried to claw through the thatched roof.

Hi everyone! I watched the video of the impacted crop surgery....gross is an understatement. It looked like hay/straw she was pulling out. I have always used wood chips in with my baby chicks, but when I move them outside, I just started to use straw. I have now read that impacted crop is somewhat common with straw. Should i not use it with the 8 -12 week ones? What does everyone here use?
Pine shavings in all indoor spaces. If necessary to cover bare ground - straw.
Many don't know the difference between hay and straw.

Cute picture but crapper lid wouldn't be predator proof around here.

Have no idea what the teeny chocolate egg came out of. LOL

What breeds do you have?
A tiny egg will pick up more pigment.

oh I love them!! That was going to be my choice over the silkie ducks fire!

look at the whites? not sure what they are called but I cant find them! they are lovely little things!

I'm thinking white Mandarin. Some call them albinos.
Look at the last picture in the following link.

trying to find some info wanted brown not black coloring though, as that would make her harder to see by arial predators as out flock all free range
Lots of people avoid white because of birds of prey. IMHO, color doesn't matter. A hawk can spot a mouse in a brown field from hundreds of feet in the air. They can spot a chicken regardless of color.

I will not be abel to be in BYC for the next few days!
I am taking my oldest to visit family in Rome!
So arivederchi a tuti!
Have a great trip. Have you been there before?
If not, visit the Forum at night.
Amazing food.
It's one of my 4 favorite cities in the world. It would take 4 months to explore it all. Ancient Rome, Medieval Rome, Christian Rome, Mussolini's Rome, modern Rome, et. al..
Visit a catacomb if you have time.
Throw a coin into La Fontana de Trevi after an Espresso.
Got a picture of a cat, but looks like a bobcat.....Wish the picture was better.

Definitely a bobcat.
