I would not cull. On my list of things to do is to find hatcheries that are mycoplasma negative, but I think that most hatcheries don't test for it.

Ideal Hatchery is mycoplasma positive, and in a letter I saw from them, the say that most other hatcheries are also positive.

so how old should my chicks be that are in the house be before I move them outside to the chicken tractor that is going to be their home? The older birds will be near by, but it will be much harder to keep them separate and at some point they will get exposed.

My new babies. 26 BSL, 20 RIR and 5 astrolops from a hatchery, and 2 5/8 RIR x 3/8 BR
I have a rheostat and thermostat on the brooder light.
I have a bought brooder in the garage for them in a few days.

How cold is it where you are?

Can you mark the air cell on it, then take another picture?

-Kathy

that depends on the day this winter. Typical southwest Missouri. The high can be 60 one day and 5 the next . Today the high is 33 eith a low of 16 tonight. They are almost eighg weeks, but I may wait till late March. I just know I don't want them too stressed to bring it on.
