I found it on the "Show Me Your Feeders" thread. I may still have a pic of mine; not sure...might can post it if you can't find it.OK caught up. @Sally Sunshine . Brace for at least another week, but much better no more crutch or cane. Glad at least a few Sermas made it and you are feeling better.
@gotro17great first hatch and you listened for success.![]()
@tao chick they get over mycoplasma on the surface, but remain carriers and it can come out in times of stress.
@kwhites634 link to gravity feeder?
@rossfam06 I grew up there two, but would not say I missed February in AK
@casportpony have you ever used permethrin?
Good luck!!! I am in the middle of my first hatch. Based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews here, I went with the hovabator too. I had mostly shipped eggs, from two different sources...one (Papa's Poultry @Papa Brooder was incredible, the other- coming all the way from CT, a total disaster (and extremely expensive!))... If they weren't broken, all eggs had detached air cells and some extremely saddled... Then, I got super lucky and discovered@Jessimom lives 2 miles from me! She generously gave me 6 silkie eggs (5 to lockdown- 3 have already hatched!). In total, 28 went to lockdown. It is just now Day 20.5 and 10 are hatched, 5 more pipped and one zipping. The one shown here, zipping, is a Bielefelder whose shell I cracked (and repaired with candle wax) 2 weeks ago!!! We are very pleased with this bator and even more grateful for all the advice here!!! Thank you! @Jessimom @Sally Sunshine

Do we have a Mycoplasma article started? I skipped some sections but know that several people have talked about it. I suspected it in my flock at one point but they all got better as quickly as they got sick and after I cleaned the coop so I thought about possible environmental irritants too. I don't even think there's a chicken doctor within an hour of me.
Oh Good God! I'll take my hawk problem any day!!! Yikes!
UPDATE- lost the lavender Orpington egg (the worst of the worst air cell, @Sally Sunshine.... I'm so mad- she was alive last night. Anyway- I floated the other 4, after candling seemed to yield nada. All 4 are goners![]()
HOWEVER- while I was moving the remaining hatched chicks from yesterday, I did notice the last BCM was pipping! We have one last silkie still waiting to pip, and this Marans. If these two make it, the final tally will be a respectable 21/28 (after lockdown). 21/40 total shipped eggs, with 5 from my awesome BYC friend, and neighbor, @Jessimom

I was just curious which one. I made a bucket one with the street elbows that I just need to Caulk since my holes turned out a bit big so they move a bit.I found it on the "Show Me Your Feeders" thread. I may still have a pic of mine; not sure...might can post it if you can't find it.
where are you in MO?Hi CC this is what I try to do here as well. Most have been at the deck or the general area the kids play in. Rest of area is theirs. More and more building here and that always pushes them around. Have to be real careful when new places go in. Another neighbor coming in behind me so this summer I will need to be more watchful.
