Hello everyone! Seems like I've caught whatever cold is going around. So I'm not going to be processing my extra roos as planned for today. Got a new silkie roo the other day. He's very friendly, a handsome black. Can't wait for him to get out of quarantine and introduce him to the ladies.

@Sally Sunshine update:
new bator is holding steady temps and the ladies have been busy laying eggs (21 on Monday!) so I'll be setting a large batch Saturday.

Off to take some cold medicine and bury myself in bed. Hope y'all have a good one!

I think I might have found what is causing problems with my hatches.... I now suspect the respiratory issue I had is MG, and they still have it but they are well managed, so no symptoms are apparent now. I had Denagard recommended to me as a treatment- only thing is it is VERY expensive!
This sounds word for word what I had going through:

Wish me luck everyone

Good luck!

So will this affect hatch rates permanently?? Or does it only have effects when symptoms are apparent? Thanks.

Well played sir.

What did you expect them to do? Get up and walk away?

That might be frowned upon by some........but they do make these things called dog kennels....not sure how they work but it might be worth investigating.

Got a crate. It's been a valuable asset.

lol how is the pup?
good luck!
She's doing well. Have had her for 3 weeks today. That makes her 12 weeks old. She's had 2 dry days in a row. Working on learning not to eat the cat or chickens. She's mastered "sit" and working well on "leave it" in the house. Not so much outside.

What flavor mutt did you get? Maybe you could let Sally borrow the crate for a day or two so she can catch up on her rest.
