Try holding your head over a steaming kettle with a towel draped over your head to trap the steam

X2 but add a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil and if you have any rosemary, add that to the water too. It'll really clear you out.

@Auroradream26

GO TUCKER! YES! Glad you finally got him in with them :) Bet he finally understands now what all that fuss was about, trying to get him out. You should have no lack of fertile eggs from now on lol. Does he seem thrilled now? What about the girls, what do they think of him?

I have a question.my big black Silkie roo.I have a trio two hens and then him.Well they where all black blue.but now he is getting brown on his neck feathers.why.?. And also they are quit a few months and still aren't laying.
As to the first point, you didn't breed him or his forbearers so you don't know his ancestry. Also, feather color (especially black) genetics is way too complicated for a short answer.
As to the second point about not laying in winter, I offer the following explanation and it has nothing to do with cold.

"""
"To take the mystery out of it, here's a brief rundown of the science.
Light exposure to the retina is first relayed to the nucleus of the hypothalamus, an area of the brain that coordinates biological clock signals. Fibers from there descend to the spinal cord and then project to the superior cervical ganglia, from which neurons ascend back to the pineal gland. The pineal gland translates signals from the nervous system into a hormonal signal.

The gland produces serotonin and subsequently, melatonin. That's the hormone that affects the gonads for sperm production and ovulation in females. An increase in melatonin causes the gonads to become inactive. As photoperiod in relation to day vs. night is the most important clue for animals to determine season. As light lengthens, the gonads are rejuvenated. The duration of melatonin secretion each day is directly proportional to the length of the night because of the pineal gland's ability to measure daylength. Besides reproduction, it also affects sleep timing and blood pressure regulation."

So as the light period increases in relation to the dark period it stimulates reproduction and - voila, EGGS.

My dad's ancestry is czech. His remedy is to get a large onion sliced, add a tablespoon of sugar and just cover with water. Seal it up in the fridge for an hour or more. When you take it out open it up drape towel over head over bowl. Inhale. Sip the liquid.

Then put some peppermint or mint of some kind in the water. If you have echanacia tea you can vapor breathe it too. I believe it is marketed as Breathe Easy.
