Once again, you are correct, M'Lady. I shall embark on that journey as soon as possible... or within the next week and a half (whichever comes first). LOL!!! Will be day 14 tomorrow, so I'll be candling eggs in the pm. Wish me luck!!!

I so remember this night, felt sooo sorry for you you! Everyone kept posting though, having fun posting random photos, and kept mentioning you and how worried they were..that you were worried about us.

Ok Sally, avy added. LOL

Me and Gator hauling round bales back and forth on the gooseneck.

Have to say, I love love this avy. Include an old doggy anytime, catches my attention. Oh, and the half of that man that I can see, looks nice too.

Poor Batman... or Batwoman. So sorry to hear that. Here's a link that may explain why this happened... http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-spot-problems-of-newly-hatched-chicks.html
Well he is an Araucana which has that genetic thing where if it got the 2 double tufted gene that it would DIS before hatch, makes me wonder if he was one of those. I also wonder if the power outage getting the incubator down to 65-70 and then when we got the generator, raising it back up too quick might have done something? If that is the case, i worry for my marans now too

because the 3 Thermometers have all been calibrated and read ~2 degrees of correct. Argh, sad baby

Thank you, Veny! It's basically a rabbit hutch with a solid floor. I over-built it, which is the reason for the removable partition. I can keep a few chicks in it, or I can keep a lot. Just planning ahead.

Glad pasty butt is doing good! Still bummed about the Seramas, but that's the way it goes sometimes. You'll just have to try again!!!

I use a rabbit hutch that we bought, My DH fixed it up better than it came, and it came brand new. He put roof shingles on it, we finally closed off the little nest area that stuck out from it. Now, we have a huge tarp ready if I decide to put any chicks out there. I have a large grow out coop/pen, thinking I may be using that for chicks if I get a good hatch in the next few days.
