I had a little free time at work this morning, so I made a modification to the mini refrigerbator. First, I trimmed the lips and shelf off of the door...



I used a grinder with 24 grit to cut down the remaining lip, and followed with a DA sander with 80 grit to smooth it...



Since I plan to install a large dual-glass viewing area, I modified and swapped the "hinges" so I could mount the door upside down. This will give me a large, smooth area to install the glasses in front of the two egg turners...

13 chicks have hatched out so far. 11 of them are Bantam Cochins, and 2 are OEGB. I've already posted the black Cochins for sale, but I think I may hold onto one of the ones that has yellow legs since my black hen doesn't have yellow legs like she should. I'm also probably going to hold onto some of the ones that appeare to be mottled or colors that I'm not sure what they are yet. I don't want to sell a chick that could be used to improve my breeding stock. I doubt I'll keep any of the OEGBs. If I ever get any more of them, I'll probably order eggs from higher quality breeders. How are everyone else's hatches going?

Why not just turn the whole fridge upside down instead?

Why not just turn the whole fridge upside down instead?

Because I'm going to mount the heat source up top where the freezer used to be. There will be plenty of space above the top egg turner, I can use the the bottom tray for a second egg turner with no modification, and the narrow space at the bottom will be perfect for a water tray.
