any other breed possible.if not either would be great.idk how many.and how Mutch would it cost.and I have a goose egg in the bator.so would have to wait till it hatches and u may have others laying then.

I do have one Rhodebar hen under a Lavender Orpington that is project that im working on but I could spare some eggs from that. If you want 6 Rhodebars and 6 Barnyard mix I could do that. 15$ plus shipping

ok,well pm that way I will remember for when my goose egg hatches

Can someone tell me what the gold chick is in the back?
I was told I got blue orpingtons and he put in a few others. A gold or copper maran? Or gold laced Wydonett possibly?

Thanks! My first hatch.
Welcome to BYC and congrats on your first hatch! I know very little about chicken breeds so can't comment except to say they're cute.

@Sally Sunshine I was looking at your coolerbator, and I was wondering about the fans, bulbs, and wafer thermostat. I don't really understand how they all work yet.

@Sally Sunshine and @LittleLakePhil : Sorry to hear that your lungs aren't behaving.

This very week we are covering respiratory infections with eh first year medical students (previous week was chronic respiratory diseases). In addition to making sure they understand the nuts and bolts of the causes and treatments of the diseases, we take a lot of time to make sure they understand the kind of impact that chronic respiratory issues/diseases have on a person's life and their daily activities.

(Do you guys wear a mask when cleaning coops or brooders? You probably should - just sayin')

Not sure where Sally got off to, but I think I can answer your question. The hot wire from the wall outlet connects to one terminal on the thermostat, the other terminal on the thermostat is connected to one terminal on the lamp socket, and the other terminal on the lamp socket is connected to the neutral wire returning back to the wall outlet. The fan is connected to a 12V transformer that is powered continuously.

@Sally Sunshine - Sorry, another tag just to ask - did you ever figure out your sourdough bread issue? Tonight's batch:

Looks done! But is it done? How can I be sure?! I've pulled bread out that looked like this before, and it was all gummy and horrible inside! (Seriously, I did that for years):

Yup, it's done.
