I have seen those but what we had was different. It would eat the needled/leaves of the tree and build a cylinder shaped cocoon out of it. There would be literally thousands on each tree.

I know a guy in NC who tried burning off his fields one time, to encourage better quail cover (dog trainer). Had to get choppers in to put the fire out

Almost did something like that one time in California. We had a charcoal grill, let the charcoal sit for about 3 days after we had used it. Figured it was all out so we buried in in the woods by the house. It wasn't all out

got the Fire Department out there pretty quick though.

I will probably wind up having to cut my tree down. they took out one whole side and it doesn't seem to want to grow back or fill out anymore. It's a short and squatty guy at about 10ft tall but 15-20 ft diameter.

We call that firewood

when I wrote my year one post for my thread I had to write it in notepad and paste it over, after losing it 2 or 3 times on here. All on mobile, wanted to snap my phone in half.
