@Mirajane here is the pattern I was following http://backtobasicliving.com/blog/make-a-chicken-saddle/ For fabric, one is a lightweight cotton which has iron on interfacing as shown in the pattern. The others are flannel without interfacing. If you go with a lighter fabric I would recommend the interfacing to bulk it up for protection against rooster claws. My seams are a mess, mostly because I figured the chickens wouldn't care. I was mostly aiming for it not to fall apart. I hope to pickup some more supplies soon I'll try to get some pics of a work in progress. What material do you use for them? I don't know how I should stitch mine together, could you maybe post a picture of your seams?

I need to make or buy one of these - one of the smallest NN girls is getting worn a bit rough by their rooster - broken feathers, and I found a healing wound last night. Healing well, but still worrying. He's a LOT bigger than she is...
One more cup of coffee, and I'm going to fight the need to nap and go put up a paddock fence for the Cream Legbars instead. They are SO stir crazy since I took down their previous outdoor pen - their coop is plenty big enough, but they're used to ranging...

Do you not realize you're risking life, limb, and various other maladies by speaking to her, or even looking at her, 'til she's had two pots of coffee, minimum?
Earlier, that was not an exaggeration. Now I would fall at his feet, begging for affection.
Got that right!
