you know I have a feeling this is not an incubation issue
those look fine except they DIS I am wondering if not a flock nutrition issue or something? worming or meds previous?

So if you medicate a bird prior to laying.. the outcome of the chick would not be good??? Never thought of that before.

:frow Hi @Sally Sunshine Hi everyone!

Thanks for checking on me lol.
We just finished some remodeling here (kitchen and our girls' room) so I haven't had much time to stay caught up but I should be able to stop by more often now :)
That wasn't my chick in that pic, Sally but I ended up hatching constantly since the NYHAL. Yes, I am clearly an addict lol.
I had 9 from the hatch a long, then I got 6 Isa Browns (they're 5 weeks) and hatched another group of 13 Marans and Cochins who are about 4 weeks old. I have 6 males listed in the byc for sale & free sections to see if there are any takers...otherwise we will process them. We are butchering our first 2 roosters next weekend. Kinda nervous but we feel it's something it's time we learn to do. We have an experienced helper coming over to give us some guidance so that should be a big help.

I'm not joining the Easter hatch a long this year

Ive got 4 different groups of youngsters in various stages and ages and I won't have room for any more chicks for another month. My husband is starting building a bantam coop this weekend (yay!!) I will definitely be putting eggs in the bator in about 2 or 3 weeks. I'm really excited to see those babies since they are my own Marans stock. I also am awaiting a call back from the Ohio NPIP tester so I'll be going through that process for certification sometime this spring.

Can't wait to read back a little and catch up and see what everyone is up to!

Are you certain your temps were spot on stryker?
The first 10 days the temp was low in the back incubator by 2 degrees. The front tray was good. Most of the full eggs when candled were full from the front trays. The back trays were clear except 3 and those 3 already hatched... Then after that I got bigger fans to circulate the heat better. They are loud but work great with even temp. I put them in on day 10.

They are spot on from day 10-23. Right at 100.. I should calibrate them with a broody hen.

So that is how they suppose to look or the last one before it hatches"?

I've been under the impression for years, that worming was the best time to collect eggs to put into the incubator. It's actually why I hatched the 18 that I have. My girls were being wormed, and I was tired of tossing the eggs.
