self coffee analysis?
I haven't had them pile it in there nest box but I've had them make bare spots on the coop floor.I've just seen something I've never witnessed with chickens before. I use pine shavings for coop bedding, using about 1/3 of a bale @ every change, so it winds up 2-3 inches deep. Last time I changed it, I spread another couple inches on top of what was already there, for extra warmth. I just checked for more eggs ( have one girl who normally lays later in the day), and found 4 more, in addition to the 3 I got when I collected early this morning, for a total of 7, out of 5 hens. I figure the girls had been moving around in the coop and managed to cover them with bedding, where I couldn't see them. The strange part of the whole deal is that they've cleared out all the bedding in one fair-sized spot, down to the bare floor, piling it up into one of the two nest boxes and around the outer perimeter to a depth of probably 6"
Anyone ever experienced such behavior who can give me a possible reason? It has my curiosity peaked.

Mile high low life team.... I'm not a Denver fan so much, but I do still admire Peyton. He was our QB for years. I was glad it was Denver that went to the stupid bowl rather than NE...
