Was never accused of being warm and cuddly.

So I've been told

I have a young rooster. Hatched in October. Out of 10 laying hens I think he is only breeding two. The two he is breeding are starting to look pretty bad. The back of their heads are bare and the feathers on their back are looking pretty ragged. What advice do you have? Should I segregate those two hens from him? Since he is young is that why he isn't breeding the other hens?

I put eggs in the incubator last Monday but I am thinking most of them wont be fertile. I am going candle them tomorrow. Have never done that yet but am reading all the info on this forum. Great info. You all are so helpful

He's of an age that he should be going after the others soon enough, giving the other two a bit of a break. Segregating them is going to mean re-integration at some point. There are hen saddles available if you want to go that route
@Auroradream26 makes some of them
