Omg its hilarious watching the chicks react to a new egg hatching. When pepper was hatching one decided pepper was its new bed. It laid there until pepper kicked out of the shell completely.

I got more eggs....I don't know why I keep doing this...

For some reason they addressed the box to a post office (not mine), rather than to the address I gave them. Since they went to the post office on the other side of town, which is the MAIN post office, they got WAY more jostling and handling than they would have if they had been shipped to my smaller post office. Never mind the frustration of getting a call that says, we have your eggs, then us going to our post office and having them spend 20 minutes looking for them. Finally checking the tracking number and telling us they were at the OTHER post office in town. Fortunately I have a nice mother who always runs my errands for me. She is the one that went to the first post office, and then to the second. I haven't heard what condition the box is in, but it's frustrating. If they had been addressed to ME, my post office would have called me at 8 this morning and had me pick them up out back. Instead they went to the post office that waited until noon to call me (and not tell me they were at the wrong post office - since they just had my name, and number, no address, they didn't know it didn't belong there.

Congratulations to all the hatching going on!!!

Pepper just hatched and its leg is kinda wrapped up in the cord. Will it be okay?

I had one hatch that way before. I cut the cord because he was pulling his yolk sack every time he yanked his leg. He was fine. I'd cut it and if it starts bleeding, just tie it off with thread and leave him in the incubator till the cord dries up.

He looks fine actually. The cord cut at the egg. Its still wrapped around his foot but he looks safe right now. And i dont want to open it unless i absolutely have to.
But thanks! I will keep you posted

Well I got the air cells marked. Boy, that was difficult! I will post a picture soon. Now, I have an older Brinsea 20 incubator, the dividers it came with are metal ruler type things. I haven't used them, I hatched the last 2 batches is the carton but since these eggs are much smaller what can I do? Could I hatch in carton and put something around them to keep them from jostling around? Also is it ok to use the automatic turner or should I rotate the machine manually?
