Took my grandson into town today....bought him his first BB gun....he wants to go out and used it in the yard.....

Baby # 7 just hatched. The smaller Bantam EE eggs are hatching earlier - 6 of the 7, with 4 pips. The larger egged Spithauben are a bit slower. 1 hatched a few hours ago, with just pips.

Easter hatch doing well. 11 eggs in lockdown. 5 are currently pipped. Also have a broody hen- have 7 eggs under her now. This is the hen with a previous eye injury- she's been in a nesting box going on a couple weeks, but not sitting on eggs. She stayed on fake eggs yesterday night, so we put real ones under her today. She took a break and made a new nest next to the eggs and was getting frustrated expecting the eggs to move to her... Silly bird

I've never heard anyone worry about hatching early. It's only a problem when they hatch late....

I don't know about yelling, but playing chick sounds has been known to help.....

I don't think it's a big deal. Just because it drew down early, doesn't mean it's going to hatch that early. Why do you think it's a problem?

That's great. It's a nice color.
Looks a little too small to incubate but a harbinger of good things to come.
