All the human individuals that you mentioned survived because that the human society ( most of them!) except and help the ones that don't have the fortune of good health. I think, and know that in the ducks flock it will be the last in everything and will be boolied continuously with no chance to defend itself.

Perhaps, in a flock of ducks; I know nothing of ducks. Probably, or especially, in a flock of chickens, but I still contend that blindness from birth cannot be considered compromised health, by any stretch of the imagination.

That's how zoning works around where I live as well. You can have birds if your property is zoned for agriculture or if you're zoned R-1 you can have them if you pay money and get a permit that can be revoked at any time or if you're R-2 no birds or livestock at all. My property has all three

Well our zones are called "dwelling". Regardless of zone, the max is 12. No minimum area required and some of the zones have only 5000 square feet of total space per lot. So even though I have 4x the amount of space, I can only have the max of 12. It's pretty upsetting and I'm considering moving. Oh yeah another change was that animals can NOT be slaughtered in the front yard, and coops and pens cannot be in the front yard...

The thing that really gets my knickers in a twist is: when you file your tax return, and you have to pay income tax on the tax return you got the previous year. How can they get away with that???? For that reason, we try very hard not to have any money due back at the end of the year. I don't understand why folks get excited when they are getting a big return. All that means is that Uncle Sam got to play with their money, interest free all year.

We have our's set up like that as well. I try not to let Uncle Sam play with my money for free.

Are weather peoples more reliable out on the west coast? Round here they ain't worth a bag of rocks.

What other job can you have where you are wrong 50% of the time, and yet get to keep your job? I could have used that bag of rocks last night. We had 50 MPH winds. Those rocks would have helped me keep my feet on the ground.

Is it drinking and eating yet? Get a kitchen scale and start weighing it daily. If it doesn't gain, or loses weight, you will have to tube feed it until it starts eating enough on it's own.

My friend who's duckling picture I posted with the bad eye did take it to the vet. It has duck glaucoma completely blind in that eye.

Sounds like a great reason to move. They didn't happen to offer to pay your property taxes while they were telling you what you could do on your property did they?

Oh my gosh. I've seen pictures of older days where every yard had killing post in the front yard.
