That's a pretty good spoiler![]()
Very funny. I just use this or study sometimes to kill time while I load or unload. Some days though I never stop so I get way behind. No wonder you work 12 hr days! It's takes 1/2 a day just keeping current around here![]()
Well, I could not afford or justify spending much on it, but if you have a vet you know or useca lot, you might be able to get it looked at for just a bit. On the other hand, you might be better off trying the blind training if you have the time, but if you don't, it will be the tough responsibility.
Here is some DIS links:Hellooooooooo everybody! So, I HAVE AN INCUBATION QUESTION!
Recently I've been hatching out chicks for my pops, however I've been having two problems. 1- I've had three chicks now that have died shortly after hatching/during zipping. One died 3/4 finished with a zip, eggtopsy showed a perfect chick. The second hatched, but was crazy weak from the get go and had a small tummy and died a day later. The third hatched, seemed normal the first few hours then rapidly went down hill and died 24 hours later (he had a poke-out navel, but looked normal otherwise). I've also had three DIS, perfectly formed upon eggtopsy, ready to hatch. This was from a total of 20 viable eggs- 2 different incubators. That's around 1/3 of the eggs, and it's infuriating! What could be causing this?!?

Is it drinking and eating yet? Get a kitchen scale and start weighing it daily. If it doesn't gain, or loses weight, you will have to tube feed it until it starts eating enough on it's own.

There is a lady near me that has a flock of blind and lame chickens. She took the one I had with the tendon that would not go right. It got around on its hock and wing so while the spraddled one I could not get fixed had to be culled that one is doing OK. Good luck.I think I am going to try to take it over to the vet and just see what he thinks. I have it at work with me today so I can make sure it's eating and drinking regularly. I'm actually impressed with its ability to find the food and water. It's full of life and spirit.
