I wore lipstick all the time when I was dating, as long as I could get my girlfriend to stay still long enough

@canadachickens
Anyone ever tell you you're a genius
The mower is running as I type!

Finally!!!

I took your advice & put the jumper cables directly to the mower cables, fired up the truck, & hit the switch. The engine turned, but not at full speed, & didn't try to fire.

I pulled both plugs, burned off any oil (though I saw none), shot a little starter fluid into each plug hole, pulled the foam air cleaner (which was dirty) but didn't replace it, sprayed a little starter fluid into the carb port, & hit the switch again; fired right up.
I haven't a clue as to which action worked, but something did.

Just for chits & giggles, I reconnected the battery; started right up! I guess the battery's good, after all.

The mower's still running; I want to burn up all the gas left in the tanks from last season (which I thought I'd done last Fall after I was done mowing) & start all over with fresh gas.

I washed out the foam air cleaner (gotta love Dawn detergent) & set it in the sun to dry. Once it's dry, I'l put it back in place & see if I can get the grass mowed.

I talked to a small engine mech yesterday & arranged for him to come out Saturday, @ $25/hr, in case I couldn't get it running...I'll contact him again if I have no further problems.

Many thanks, my friend; you saved me a lot of extra time & God knows how much money, & I'm more grateful than you can ever know.

Just lockdowned 7 Lavender Orpington, 4 sapphires, 2 Sally's projects, and 1 cream legbar. Some already had internal pips!
Great! Good luck!

X2. Someone should've warned me how much fun this was. I think some of y'all tried but I didn't listen.
It's terribly fun and addicting. When I got birds I only wanted like 3-4 hens for eggs for the family. Now I've got 9 laying 6 that are almost to laying age and a brooder full with more than I'll admit to........and ducklings

and there's more eggs in the bator.

Thank you Jessi, Chaos, Daxi, Mike & Sally! (Think I got everyone??!)

My 4.5 week olds HAVE to get the boot to a grow out pen and coop this weekend!!! They're trying to fly around the brooder...knocking over feeders and waterers as soon as they're half full...it's a DISASTER - I clean up after them 3 times a day...our temps have increased more so I'm sure they'll be 100% ok out there...they're little monsters now!! And my EHAL chicks need to get split up into the bigger brooders because they're quickly outgrowing the smaller brooder and making big messes too. (Starting to jump and perch on waterers and feeders and try to fly off of them...)

What are your best tips for this stage - keeping water and food from being knocked over? I've tried a few different things but they're still making huge messes of stuff.

That's how it started with me too. I told pearl , let's get a few laying hens. I'm ashamed to tell you how many chickens we got now. I will say that I have five coops and chicks in the house. Oh and my gay roo. He raises all my baby chicks.
