So my broody hen pushed the chicks that just hatched out of the nest. And watched at the other hens started pecking them. I'm assuming this is not a good thing so I brought the chicks up and put them in brooder. So after taking them the hen jumped down and is now running around with the flock. So will this mean she isn't a good mother? Could it have been because I put eggs in that we're already over half way through incubation?

No, I guess it wouldn't be, at that.
It'd have to be a tube for a car or truck tire, though; bike tube wouldn't be wide enough.
Do they even make tubes for cars and truck any more? I'd go with the type of rubber that ChickenCanoe suggested. I used that on my wood shed and on one of my chicken coops.

Strawberry variety is pretty well dictated by climate.
I have Honeoye, Chandler, Ozark Beauty and Sparkle.
There are some that I may have preferred but these will do OK here and the others I wanted weren't available when I ordered.

EPDM rubber.
I keep a big roll and use it for roofing and anything that needs a waterproof flexible cover.
You can get it any size from roofing and pond liner companies.
You don't need to go with the 60mil. 45 mil is sufficient. My house is roofed with the same material.

Thanks.
