Hmm... I think a little update is in order. After realizing how disappointed I was in not being able to join the HAL, and after I had reminded her of our conversation of the event, she decided to give me the go-ahead. But by the time this happened, I was so discouraged that I told her I was no longer interested in participating... and that she was right, we have too many chicks already. At this point she insisted that I go get some eggs, on one condition... not 18 eggs like the last time. I said of course not, only a dozen this time. She gave me that sideways look that always means I'm pushing the envelope, so I dropped it to half a dozen.
Sooooooooo... it looks like I'll be on board after all! Yippee!!!!
