Sally... I looked up serama pics and they look really inbred!

Do all serama have the extreme tail carrige??? Or is that just a perticular line???? Cuz those pics make it seem like serama can't walk.... Or is that a show pose "taught" to them?

you have to table top train them. there are different types of serama sweets...

So today is my DH birthday.  He said he doesn't want any cake until tomorrow.  Would it be bad if I cut it and eat a piece after he goes to bed?

Happy birthday, Ren's DH!!! Uhm... who provided the cake? That should be the determining factor of whether or not eating a piece without him is acceptable. If you provided the cake, then you should eat all you want... and get him another one tomorrow. You can always say a chicken pooped on it or something like that! Just a thought...    ;)

UR!!!!!! :rant
chicken poo???? Seriously???

:sick

Most seramas do have the tail carriage. It is part of the standard. That is just their show pose. Other than that they just walk around like a normal bird. I can see how you would be worried though. no need

It'll get easier. Now I just stop by my incubator about 30-40 times a day just to take a quick glance at the temp and humidity and move on... about 30 minutes later. See? I'm not swooning over mine like I did before!  :celebrate

Seriously, I only check the temp and humidity if I'm in the vicinity... and the rest of the time I'm trying to keep up with this thread!!!

Sounds like you have gone through more than me when it comes to hatching, but I don't even check it that much.... Ok I won't lie, I do. But only about 50 times a day.....For 20 minutes each... What have I done with my life?

The first time we got chickens was when I was 7, and I had always LOVED any type of animals. We got full grown ones though, a rooster and 5 hens, and I was pretty mad when the rooster pecked me the first day. Anyway, when I was 8, I had researched about broody hens, because my favorite hen was sitting in a nesting box and was hissing and pecking at me. She sat on 3 eggs, and hatching day, I walked out there, (She trusted me to lift her up and look at the eggs after a couple days) I moved her over, and two of the eggs were wiggling around, no pips. I started shrieking, out of happiness, for my mom. You wouldn't believe how fast she came running. She ran in the coop, I guess thinking I cut myself or the rooster tried to kill me, or something like that. Instead, I was pointing at the nest silently, and my mom turned me to face her and slapped me. I scared her too much... Whoops
Wow. That didn't end the way I was expecting. But the good news is, when these eggs start wiggling you can shriek out of happiness all you want... as long as your mom isn't around!

Sally,
I know we talked abôut me trying to read all the posts, it's just how I am wired, a wee bit OCD! I have been on for almost an hour playing catch up, and now it's time to call it a night! Good night all!

Do EXACTLY what Sally said lol. I did that to my sister once, and she wasn't very happy, but she forgave me after I handed her 20 bucks

OMG speaking of sisters and cake... I'm the baby of the fam.. sister got married and left the top of her wedding cake in my parents freezer. Over the course of the year, I ate most of it. I didn't know you were supposed to save it for your first anniversary. She blames me for her marriage not lasting, lol.
