Wow! Finally caught up since I bailed early last night...bed was screaming my name as the eyelids were slamming shut. Besides all that I was in he blind for a couple hours earlier...NADA

I've come to one conclusion since reading every one of those posts:
The whole danged night crew is at least a half a bubble out of plumb, but I luv it!

I wish you could post a picture so we could see what you're dealing with. It depends on the severity of the issue, and the long-term viability of the chick. If it's something that will not allow it to have a good QOL, I'd have to terminate. There are several options to do this...

My feed store lady rips their heads off...I can't do that.

I use a scissors bj, over the trash can... But at first........... I would lay a groc store plastic bag open on the table, and over top of it , I take the chick lay him on a flat paper towel and roll just twice so that the scissors can still be sharp enough to cut through the neck and the paper towels. so when its rolled you feel for its neck and snip its head off not quick just do it right all the way through the paper towel and his head and towel drops in the bag throw the rest in, close the bag and tell him to RIP. that way you dont have to see it.

You don't have to rip the head off to accomplish termination. If you have the willpower, you can simple pinch it's neck between your thumb and index finger and roll it's neck... or simply apply pressure until it expires. Not a pleasant thing to do, but less messy than decapitation...

I don't hatch so take this as you may....if there is a chance of survival..just reach in grab the dang bird stick it in the brooder in front of the heat on a towel. And go about your day...if it makes it give it a special name....if not you tried...end of story.....if not just tell me to shut up and go away...Phil
