Seems like IncuView would have addressed this problem by now. Something as simple as an upgraded turner arm with a shorter throw would fix 99.9% of the issues. Mine has been solid as a rock since I bent the arm on it, but not everyone would know to do this. I'll give them a call in the morning...
Actually, I was in the sheet metal trade in the 60's. We ran a lot of ducting, and don't recall ever using it at all.

I worked for and a/c & heating company for a few years, and built and installed ducting as well. Don't recall using much duct tape, either. Used a good bit of aluminum tape, though...
Most of our work was with "slips" & "drives"; don't remember ever using tape of any sort, but that was a long time ago & I've slept too many times since then.
Ihave to apologize... I misquoted the origin of WD-40. I was relying on memory to tell that story, and that usually comes with a lot of room for error! Here's the real story:

Our use of aluminum tape was usually used around the plenum and top of the air collector. On the ductwork... not so much. I've slept a lot of times since then, and I think I need to do some more of that right now. The WD-40 fiasco did me in! I think I'm going to call it a night. It's been fun!
