Kristie!!!  I was wondering about you!!!!!  :hugs   you will have chicks in the morning!! sweet!!!  :jumpy

Sorry, life just got crazy with the holidays. Things should settle down now. I have blue Cochin that should be hatching tomorrow. I have had 3 hatched now that have lost power during lockdown. I'm thinking it's a sign. Or maybe I should've listened to you the 1st time around (always have a backup plan). Always gotta learn the hard way :( I'm hoping some hatch. I had them in bed with me during the outage to help keep their temp up...haha. I couldn't control the humidity though.

Whoohoo!! My chickie hatched hall by himself. Just when i wasn't watching too! Lol

Now I have one problem, since his pall did not hatch, he is a loner. How best to care for him? I could try to bring my silkie hen inside but I don't know if she would set on him or not. She is a good mother in the spring and will adopt chicks then but I have no clue about now out of season. I have never tried that.

I have him in with two stuffed beanie chickens right now but I doubt that's going to really fool him. I feel like handling him a few times a day my self isn't giving him proper chicken life, so he can go in the yard with the other chickens some day.

What should I do for him?

He needs a friend. Not sure if your Willie would take him in or not if she isn't broody currently. You can always try but keep a close eye on her, you'll know pretty quickly if she doesn't take to the chick.

That would be Silkie not Willie...hahaha. Stupid auto-correct!

Mirror wouldn't hurt... might try an actual feather duster hung in the brooder too... sometimes they'll hide in it like momma when they sleep...
