No, they do hold a ball hockey tournament in the city on the river in February that attracts 6-7000 people! and runs all week.
yes the drag races are pretty fun to watch, they are more for fun than any real competition. we do have a national snowmobile race track in the little town just to the south of us. Canadian Power Tobbogan Championships. get competitors out from all over Canada and the Northern States. They usually run one event per month from December to March.
And the river really only gives us trouble in the spring, we have come close a few times, but basement has been dry for the ten plus years since we built!

And Jealous? I would love the mountains and forests in your neck of the woods. I have driven through that region a few times. Gorgeous!

Im in the middle of weaning an abandoned calf i was bottle raising, I love it (being raised on a beef farm was probably the best thing God could give me lol), he had an infection on his umbilical cord, took a lot of tlc and la 200 and electrolytes ive stayed up several nights tube feeding and trying my best to keep calves from freezing to death, let me knaw if you have any questions, just make sure he gets plenty of colostrum

the best thing to do is leave him with mom for at least a few days the colostrum gives babies all the necessary antibodies and vitamins and minerals to fight off illness, but you can buy powdered colostrum for emergencies

milk/colostrum is specific to each type of animal but can be used in emergencies, i wouldnt use the same batch of colostrum or powdered milk for very long, especially if it cools down it can hurt them

start off with colostrum, then go to regular milk and start getting him to eat hay, sweet feed and hay after 10 days or so (thats what it is for calves) and give him electolytes and vitamins if he is acting weak, la 200 if you suspect infection, he NEEDS colostrum
