Quote:Quote:not one pip ? what do you mean?I did an experiment with my Janoel. Had no problem with my 28 day duck eggs upright, all of them hatched, but not one of the 35 day eggs managed to pip, though I think they would have if I had managed my humidify better.

All Muscovy eggs died late term. Looks like humidity was too high for them.

and the cam reached the bottom of the egg on all of them? that sucks kath so many... I still say gentle sand and wash sterlize and then sterilized heat dips once a day instead of misting. I need ducks again to keep praticing, I miss all the silkie ducks I had
I just put them in an turned it on... did nothing to them. This time I cleaned them and am running the humidity at 35-40%, but they're in the RCOM this time, not the Janoel.

I would have gone lower in humidity but thats not knowing what you know. do you have alot of goop at the end sometimes, stuck and sometimes that yellow goop too?
SWEET!@kwhites634 ... I spent this afternoon building and setting up my new chick feeder. Replacing the 7 lb feeder wit 2" PVC (dual 3" stacks) created a lot more room in the brooder, but my main goal is to cut down on waste. I was filling the 7 lb feed every couple of days, until I noticed at least half of the feed was mixed in the pine shavings. They can eat out of holes in the PVC, or they can scratch to get the food in the bedding, or both. The new feeder holds approximately 10 lbs of feed, so less filling... although it's much easier to fill since it's done from the outside now.
As with most all my projects it was a work in progress, so it ended up looking nothing like my original "plan" (plan = image in my head). All in all, I think it'll serve my purpose, so I'm happy with it. I may come back later and slot the top of the pipe so there's a larger feeding area. We'll see...

I'm all for air cells. I think they play a vital role in hatching eggs. I also think...
I don't have a Primier, but I have an 11 x 16 Sweeter Heater, which functions the same as yours. I LOVE IT!!! Not only will your power consumption be cut dramatically, your chicks will be sooooooo much calmer and quieter. We'll have to get your review when you've used it for awhile!
Thank you very much!!!Really nice set up!!!!
from this view they look good! I am liking those air cells in nice circles too! you lucky dog you!
I see my roosters in there!!! so thats what happens when your not online all day!@kwhites634 ... I spent this afternoon building and setting up my new chick feeder. I
I dont but what do those run?
It went up by about $150. I have a full house, way too many electronics, so I can't blame it all on the heat lamps, but the bulk of it probably was. For me, it's been cold (50's), so only on the days that it got warmer than that, did I turn them off.really? How much did they run your bill up? I only turn my heat lamps on when the temps fall into the single digits.
