Did she stop laying eggs? It could be EYP (egg yolk peritonitis) or internal laying, their are some bacteria that can cause sudden death in chickens, it could be also a fatty liver problem, keep a close eye on the outer chickens for the next few days. You can check here abdominal cavity, and her liver fir more information![/quote
I don't know I had a new egg the last couple days that could have been her but if not then she hadn't started laying yet.

NOOO candle FAT end down... fat end is air cell, look through that into egg   EDIT

see this image, you dont want the egg fat end up to candle though, NOT like this pic as far as direction
but see how they have their hand cupped over the end of the flashlight?  do this but from the fat end down into the egg.....  so you dont disrupt air cells more with being upsidedown

ALWAYS keep fat end up, at candles when they are messed up from shipping!

I figured that out when trying to take you some pics. My new find is detached air sacs! Good news at least they have them now! Bad news....we are heavy with Marans eggs. Sink or swim, right?!?

Y'all are funny, just got caught up (from this morning) and you guys make me smile

I set 15 blue partridge/gold partridge brahmas last night. I'm doing some research on orpingtons and will probably invest in a few silver laced orpingtons. I gotta work OT for them though. They must lay golden eggs or something because people are sure proud of them. I want to start a breeding project with them.
