Really, they just fell in?

The lid on her bator is very light; just the breeze from a door opening blows it right off. No point in putting the lid back in place with no eggs in.

Well, um, errrrr, that bator took an appearance change after 4 years in action. Or I'd love to. It did work great but I didn't care for how it was setup on airflow and racks. It got gutted and redone on Friday to mimic the other 2 cabinets.

It's another manic Monday, so it's been a little busy with a twist of crazy for me. Just dropping in during my lunch break to say howdy... ... and to post some pics of a couple of my 6 week-old BR chicks. I think they're a pretty good size for 6 weeks, but then again... I've never raised chicks before. Those are Jan 1 babies in the background, so they may can be used for comparative purposes. Maybe someone with BR experience can tell more about their progress? My #1 pullet: And my #1 roo:

I rase BPR and this look wonderful! Good job! Do you know how to sex them? ( 1-2 pullet 3-4 cockerel)

No. Set everything at once. You may have to pull one of the oldest blues before the shipped ones arrive; cross that bridge if/when you cross it.

I agree, partially. set them all at the same time.
as for pulling the older ones, try them anyway. you will know by day 7-10 if the older ones are developing, and can toss them at that time if they do not develop.
I have had eggs almost 14 days old develop, not always, but sometimes you get lucky!

Dumb question of the day that I should know the answer to, but don't:

How do I contact someone known to be on BYC when I don't know which thread to find them on?
Does a PM get to them, or does it only go to the thread I'm on when I open it?

A pm would get to them, even if they are not on, they would be notified when they logged in.
