It might actually be a cross with a Welsummer and a RIR. The egg doesn't seem have very many spots, and it is a lighter color for a Welsummer. And, the hen has a little more red than a usual Welsummer. But she is beautiful!
I did notice a bit more red on the front of the neck and breast than on most of the pics I looked at. Didn't know if it would change after she molts or not, but she has a rather large frame for such a young bird. She's already as big as my biggest PRIR. Thanks, and I agree, she's quite beautiful!!!

Well, when I'm sitting right here at my computer looking at Subscriptions, and clicking on the Thread as soon as a new one pops up, and between the time I click and the time it loads, the message pops up on the bottom that there are another one or two posts.... then I know I may struggle to keep up.

There's the problem... watching Subscriptions. You stand a much better chance of keeping up, or close to it, if you stay on the thread... watch for new posts alerts... and refresh the screen immediately. Oh... and reading and typing really fast comes in handy, too!

. I have a feeling DH will make sure the Bator is in a very safe place, far far away from this location I call home once these eggs hatch!

Although he is a good man and right now just fake smiles and tells me 'whatever makes you happy dear'.

. I love listening to the Bator but can't get over the chick sounds. They talk all the time and sometimes I just sit in the living room next to their brooder and listen. I'll be super sad when they are outside full time.
You won't be sad... you'll be out there with them! You're caught in a vicious cycle, and there is no escape. You will do what you have to do to get your fix...

That's easy...we all are
Sad... but true.

Hi everyone!

Weird question.....Since I set my eggs at night usually - my day 18 started tonight at 7:30 pm. I"ll candle tonight and I usually move them to lock down at that time.....but my chicks never hatch until day 21 or 22. Should I leave them in the turner tonight and move them to lock down tomorrow (day 19)? Move them when I candle them tonight? Or does it not matter?

Thanks!

I saw a GQF bator for sale on fb. I showed it to DH and he said "what's wrong with the one you've got?" Oh, nothing... LG styro is just the same... :lau
