Went out today to check for eggs the 2nd time, before they had a chance to freeze, and found all 6 of mine up close to the concrete foundation (8' high on that end), enjoying the little bit of heat bouncing off the south end of the house.

This time I got 4 Roos and 3 hens. But, that is not for sure yet. He is the only one feathering out a solid color Edit: I have a pure white silkied hen and a white roo with a few black dots on his neck

Might want to remember that spot... in case you ever get locked out of the house... I mean... stuck outside.

I think it's easiest to go ahead and lock them down after candling on day 18, as it's one less time to have to fiddle with them. If you're going 21-22 days, you might be running a little low on your temp. An additional .5F can easily bump them up a day earlier. Just something to consider...

Thanks!!! I will bump up the temp .5 degrees and see what happens. I have been locking them down in a still air incubator at about the 100 to 101 range cuz it scares me to see 102 for the temps. I do have a fan I am planning to install - maybe I'll install that before I lock them down.....
