Yes, looks like he'll be ok, just needed antibiotics and quiet - he's healing (that's what the "showers" are for, to help blood flow to his wounds, which look MUCH better).

Several very small terriers got loose from someones yard (not our neighborhood) and got into mine. Dumbledore flew out of his paddock and led the dogs away from all the other chickens and to the front of the house. I came home to a driveway full of feathers, interrupting attack. Amazing he lived, little hero. Chalk one up for coming home early from work every once and a while. All other chickens are completely ok.

Hi, guys - sorry I'm late, I was blow drying the rooster.

Lemme go catch up...

good luck with him Ant Farm! poor thing looks so sad

I am so upset with myself, that I just can't stand it!
To raise the temperature in the incubator earlier, I added both plugs. It's only the first day, so not a big deal. I wanted to drop the temperature back down about 2°, but Duckling was grabbing at things, and I turned the dial instead of removing a plug. I will check it in a few hours, but I may have to just remove the eggs overnight until I can get it right again.
I am confessing to this because I don't want anyone else making a stupid mistake like I did! If you are distracted, stay the heck away from the incubator!!
lmao MC sorry its funny!

Ok, I love the heating plate, but it's become a game of patients. This is what my set up is. They are in our back room. The 7 week old birds (going outside tomorrow) are in the tall fence type area, and the babies are in the lower one in the back.

The bigger chicks all freak out when we go out there....scares the babies. They disappear.

If you wait REALLY, really quietly....the re-appear!!

It's all blue because we have blue tarps on the windows, don't have blinds yet.

Oh, he's not sad, he LOVES his hot water spa and blow dry sessions - he was falling asleep. He especially likes when I blow dry under his wing. He's gonna be SO spoiled by the end of this.

He WAS sad and in pain when it first happened:
