I caught four crappie....they started around dark. Then they got real active. Problem is I had insufficient light to stay and fish. They did the same thing last year. So now I have a pattern to go by. Will have to go and buy a new lantern so I can stay out later. I broke my old lantern a few months ago.
But flasher went nuts after dark. I could coax then off the bottom and get them to bite. Might get up tomorrow and go get a new lantern before I go out tomorrow afternoon. They all ran about 11ish inches long.

Sounds good; not a thing wrong with 11" Crappie. We tried one of those underwater lights in WI one year that are supposed to attract bait fish, which then attract Crappie. Never so much as a nibble. No bait fish, either. Just proves what I've always said: Most fishing tackle is designed to catch more fishermen than it does fish.

@Sally Sunshine @Ur-ur-ur-urrr Hi. Here is my hatch. I need help with a baby,and guesses on the barred rock chicks.

the leg stays bent and it looks like it used its knee/hock for walking.

and here are the Christmas chicks. I am amazed how fast they grow.
