I am on page 1,500 of another thread.. read it all!
(took me forever- but well worth my time)

Crazy day already. Chickens started going nuts around 4 am when we went to investigate found two beautiful rottweilers huddled up trying to stay out of the storm. No tags, but they had collars and leashes still on em. Packed them off to the garage to keep dry and warm. My sister's driving them into town to our vet to see if they've got a microchip to scan. Poor things were just exhausted when I last saw them. Hope everyone is having a good day, stay safe and warm all of you in the wacky weather!
PLEASE put posters out EVERYWHERE even your car, and alert all local vets and shelters and hardware stores, posting on social media is great, but sometimes the people who lost them are elderly and do not use it. I used to never find stray animals, but the past year I have had several dogs come up on my house- and I don't even live in a neighborhood- and 9 times out of ten they end up belonging to elderly couples that let their dogs ride in the car with the windows rolled down and they get scared and jump.

So very true!!! The fact they still had leashes on had me thinking the same thing.

On it! My sisters working up a found pet poster right now. Unfortunately they're not chipped. It's kinda weird because we're out of town, and if they came in from the front of the property it's a very busy highway. If they came in from the back or either side there are neighbors with barns, carports and lots of other places to hang out and dry. But our house sits closer to the highway than everyone else's so I'm wondering about the highway. So far the list of places to contact/posterize we've got down are vets, shelter, feed store and probably see if the little market up the highway will let us put up a poster. I think someone's missing them bad by now. They're very well behaved, the vet looked them over they're well nourished and no injuries. They must've had a rough night, they're crashed out again. Which sounds like a lovely idea, I think I'm in need of a nap too.

I'm proud you're doing all this/that, not just for the dogs, but especially the owner(s). It's how I would want my pets treated if they were lost.
