We do all this parts and we are not less halty then you, and if there is a healt problem it will affect every part if the bird!

Very true and as a kid we ate all the parts. I guess sometimes I listen to the media too much when it comes to bad stuff in liver and hearts. I loved liver and onions when I was a kid.

well went with 50%,as at 60-65% I ended up with a lot of drowned chicks .and temp spikes seem to only be happening once I increase the humidity in there

what do you mean drowned chicks??? can you give more details??? I have a feeling its something else

I'm over 400 posts behind... Sigh... Anyway, it's day 34 for the Muscovy eggs and it looks like I have one external pip, two internals. One of the eggs have a huge "bruise" at the bottom of the shell, so I doubt it's still alive.

UPDATED YOU CH thanks

I am sorry to say that they don't have respect to the animal that they eat! Whay to throw, the liver? The heart? The bons? The spleen? The gizzard? You can do alot of delicious and nutrias dishes from them!
I dont know how to make gizzard so they go to my mother!!! spleen???? never ate

I managed to squeeze 50 eggs into each tray this time, achieving the Brinsea Ova Easy 100 suggested limit. These eggs come from my own layers, who are first generation offspring of pure Black Copper Marans Roosters mated with a dual purpose bird resembling a Red Sexlink. These birds are inbreeds, as they are mating with their own fathers. The oldest layer is ~34 weeks old, the youngest only 24 weeks.

And here it is all set up and running.

My expected hatch date is 2/20. I'm running at 99.6F, and 50% RH.

Quote: The paperwork doesn't give any customer service information, and the website only gave an email address saying I must send this lid back before they give me another one.
I love the candler though! Even in the light, you can see veins and movement!

MC you were not MEAN ENOUGH!!!! pictures of the cracked lid should be sufficient and you should have told them so!!! and demanded quick shipping of the next!!!

Tomorrow is a working day, and my bed is calling! So GN to you all!

For anyone looking for a new candler...I just got this and love it so far! Can see into my green eggs now! Sadly the rooster seems to only like the big bottom orpingtons, he's ignoring my other girls

I've started the growout pen build. Not going as fast as I'd like for it to be, but I am making a little progress.

4 - 4"x4"x10' treated posts form the foundation of roughly 100 square feet.

2"x4" treated lumber (ripped in half) create the wall frames. It's lightweight so it'll need additional diagonal bracing. Front wall is 6' 3" and back wall is 4' 6", which provides more than adequate slope.

That's it so far, but my goal is to at least get the roof on it before the day's up...
Joey so cool!!!!

peachick that is a fantastic DEALL!!!!! I will add it to our flashlight lists, I should order one too!

Ok dumb question here. How in the world do the eggs stay in those racks at that angle?

I do a quick pass for clears on Day 10, then again on Day 18. I've ordered a new candler based on suggestions from this thread (3500 Lumen Zoomable CREE XM-L Q5 Flashlight Torch Zoom Lamp Light 3 Mode). I can't see veins using my Brinsea Ova-Scope High Intensity, so hopefully this new one will solve that problem. No point candling if you can't see what's what. I work on the basis, if the whole egg glows, its a clear. So far I haven't been wrong, just missed some.
