You Europeans are my heroes with your multiple month long vacations.
Some Americans don't even take vacations and often only a week at a time.

That works. I have anywhere from 3 to 8 small flocks so it's a little awkward. I used to have dry erase tablets at all the coops so I could take notes and egg tallies for each flock and I haven't replaced the ones that got ruined or lost. I now take flats out and collect with a pattern and a space between groups so when I come in I can enter the numbers. I'm trying to get a handle on which hens are most productive as well as egg color and size. That won't happen as well till I get trap nests built. Or better yet when I microchip the hens.

Haha, I only really take two long vacations. Husband and I get a month off in the summer and his boss (aka Dad) gives him an extended Christmas holiday. Since we both work for family businesses we actually work much more than most people (he works from 9-6 Tue-Fri and 7-6 Saturday with a half day Sunday, I work 7-2 Monday and Thursday mornings with half days Tue-Wed-Fri). I also run my own business online.

Back in Texas (if I was working) I would have MORE time off than I do here. Most of that time off was piddled off online. I don't miss it though, I like being busy. Otherwise I wouldn't have chickens/dogs/snakes on top of three jobs and a garden.

Thanks!
Well get some rest today :highfive:

Haha thanks. No rest for the weary. Will be bedding rounds bales of straw in anticipation of the next front moving in tomorrow/Tuesday. The work never stops. First 2016 calves should start dropping in the next day or two.

Got a lot done yesterday. Beat down today. I was hooking up the gooseneck at 6am yesterday and didn't walk in the door until after 7 last night. We built fence straight thru bustin @$$. We didn't stop to eat or anything so it was a long physical day. I'm feeling this morning. As I've gotten older I've really tried to get away from just killing myself but sometimes old habits kick in. My hired guys and daughter were less than impressed because we normally try to take it easy on the weekends. Oh well, we had a 60* day and I was taking advantage of it.
A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do when he can do it, 'specially in your business.
