Okay so for the meds, just to clarify.

Tylan 200 is 0.125 ml per pound twice a day

or

Tylan 50 is 0.5 ml per pound twice a day
Yes. That works out to a total of 50 mg per pound per day. Note that it's a larger dose that most people on BYC recommend, but it is the amount that the makers of Tylan recommend when using the powder.

CRD indications:

  • Administer medicated drinking water for three days; however, medicated water may be administered for one to five days depending upon severity of infection. Treated chickens must consume enough medicated water to provide 50 mg per pound of body weight per day. Only medicated water should be available to the birds.
Turkeys:

  • Administer medicated drinking water for three days; however, medicated water may be administered for two to five days depending upon severity of infection. Treated turkeys must consume enough medicated water to provide 60 mg per pound of body weight per day. Only medicated water should be available to the birds.

Disclaimer - I have no medical training, but I do believe this is the best way to give injectable Tylan.

@casportpony In your experience, do most of the Muscovies that internally pip usually go on to externally pip, or do quite a few of them die before externally pipping?
IMHO, if any avian embryo pips and doesn't hatch the problem could be the following:
Low humidity or temperature for a prolonged period (weakening the embryo)
Low humidity during hatching
Nutritional deficiencies
Poor ventilation
Prolonged egg storage
Inadequate turning during first 12 days
High temperature during hatching
Breeder diseases

If one species or breed were to have specific problems with proper incubation, the problem could be a small gene pool.
