Let me know if you ever do- depending on what I have at the moment, what bator I have, how much hatch experience I get and the condition of my coop, I might be interested! :fl

Here are some of the mutts I hatched on the 21st. No real idea what they are/ are mixed with. Most of them hatched out of blue or green eggs. 2 hatched from brown eggs. I hatched 10 out of 12 even though the temps was over 102 several times and would not go above 95 for the first few days. They hatched right on time.

very cute! look at the eyeliner in the first one, and that last one, is she orange like cream sickle?

I will avoid staggering then. I'm hoping my suppliers all ship on the 8th, I have heard many good things about one of them, Papa Brooder, and the other two I have high hopes for, we discussed how they pack and they claim to do it with the bubble wrap and double boxing and whatnot. I do need a coolerbator since I may end up with too many eggs for my bator!!! I paid for 40 eggs and I know extras are frequesntly included and my baotr holds 45 with the auto turner. I may need to rig something up depending on how the air cells look, I'm talking with my FIL about turning an old fridge he has into a coolerbator.

As for the Frizzle D'Uccles that project will have to wait until I have more land. I'm super bummed today, I called my states Ag dept and got told that if I didn't have at least 30 birds I couldn't get NPIP certified.... Considering how much they charge that is stupid and a great way to discourage people from participating......

nope I haven't started mine until the stat gets here, dad is helping me and showing me how to use the tools so I quit being a pain in his behind lol, will be going down in the next week to make it

Well the reason I ask is that after making mine I noticed that most plexiglass is installed on top of lid. I put mine on the bottom of the lid. By doing that the piece cut out can be put back in to make better insulation and block the light. Put some sort of handle on top of lid and it can easily be taken off to view eggs and instruments. The plastic on the lid will need screws to hold it to the foam. I'm not using bulbs but the heating element out of the old styrofoam incubator. The plexiglass can be secured with washers and screws and 100% silicone the kind used for fish tanks. Some silicone contains mold inhibitors and I did not want to chance the eggs getting anything from that.
