This has absolutely nothing to do with hatching, but I'm sure one of y'all can help me out. I got a Chinese goose Saturday morning. She's absolutely miserable in the cage I have her in. Do you think it'd be alright to go ahead and turn her loose to free range? I've turned ducks loose after only a week with no problems, but it hasn't been quite a week.

@casportpony @Sally Sunshine even though 70-90% already have it, given that you guys are asking about hatcheries is it really right to sell eggs and chicks since there is the possibility of some being carriers since I know now mine carry ms?

I have yet to figure all that out dax and them comes into consideration when you get stuff too who was given live vaccines and then is carrier.

Hi, what are you using to pump the warm moist air in?  We were thinking of using our air pump like we use in our fish tanks to possibly increase the oxygen in the 'bators.

Fish tanks is another math problem here. I have a very small tank heater. I believe it is for a ten gallon tank. Not the glass type, it's metal. It's expensive but worth it. I'm currently using a container left over from Cosco nuts. Cutting small groves in lid install pipe and airstone from air pump. Also heater into water. I have also added an air line to refill container though the same hole in lid with water. Water does need to be filled in order not to burn up heater but being metal it's more forgiving. The hole this moist air is pumped into is handily the ice water release hole on my coolerbator. A hole is drilled into the nut container to match the height of the ice drain. I'm going to modify it a bit in that I'll make it bigger. I'll take a picture of it tonight. Seal all holes that might let air release. Also the bottom of coolerbator is water bottles to provide a heat sink. The water bottles hold the shelf the modified egg turner sets on. Any extra moisture needed is put in via another air tube in the bottom of coolerbator around the water bottles. It sounds more confusing than it is. I'll hook it back up and send pic.
@Sally Sunshine I know this sounds like a lot of moisture but it's not believe me.

I'm not sure what the right answer is. Spend some time trying to find someone selling eggs or chicks and see if they are mycoplasma free. Keep in mnd that many people advertise NPIP clean, but that does not mean they are mycoplasma negative.
