This has been going on for a while, so I think we need to put him down. That also means that I need to get a new dog. You guys have any recommendations for the best dog with the chickens?

Those that know me know I love to medicate, lol, but seriously, I only medicate with antibiotics when I have to. Just sneezing and a runny nose I would  not medicate. Sneezing, runny nose and not eating, I would medicate, though I would not use Denagard.

It's only sneezing occasionally, and its nose isn't runny at all, so I'm not too worried yet. It's eating like a little piggy. I let it take its first bath so it could wash it's nostrils out good. I hate medicating. I have Denagard and Tylan, but Denagard is my personal favorite for when I have to use something.

Hey guys, i just pulled the Little Giant out, I bought some Marans eggs. I paid $6 for 17 eggs, but they would have taken less.. I think it was well worth it, now if i dont kill them in my bater. I also put three more eggs from my favorite hens. I have a broody momma setting on 10 eggs.. I hope they hatch about the same time cause, i would love to slip them under her as they start peeping so she can raise them.
Currently, I have flock of mongrals. I think a black sex link rooster and five hens. Only two are laying, i think its a light brahma and a white leghorn type.. i have one hen that hasn't laid since she hatch a couple chicks last summer... i figure i will give her and her daughter till summer then they are hitting the pot..
I have one other hen that lays great except when she is broody, which she does about every three months... i love it...

I have 13 Marins, 11 weeks old and a silky i bought. I also have one mongral from my last bater kill about a month ago... she was the only hatch out of about 12 eggs...
This time im doing things a little different. I'm not putting water in for the 1st week and a half so about day 12 I'll add water and turn up the humidity. I have a separate thermometer I'm watching the temp.. currently, its 99.8 its seems to go from 98 to a little over 100 as its set. If i check the actual egg temp with my lazor, i get between 93 And 96, does that sound ok?
I set them the night of the 3rd and the temp stablized on the 4th so im expecting lock down to be the 23rd...

I am so sorry. Would it be possible to rehome him so you dont have to put him down? I usually keep my dogs away so i wouldn't know a good breed with chicks. But im sure if you raise them around hens when they are puppies they would be less likely to eat them.

He can barely walk anyway because he is really fat and old. He only got them because he dug unto my pen and cornered them.
